As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy, compliance, and efficiency of the company’s financial operations. Reporting directly to the Accounting Manager and working within a team of 25 finance professionals, you will operate in a dynamic, complex, and challenging environment.
Your main responsibilities include:
- Managing and supervising general ledger accounting in line with Belgian GAAP
- Leading monthly, quarterly, and annual closings
- Preparing accurate financial statements and performing balance sheet reconciliations
- Drafting statutory accounts and annual reports
- Supporting group reporting activities
Tax & Compliance
- Preparing and reviewing VAT returns, Intrastat declarations, and other Belgian tax filings
- Supporting corporate income tax calculations and compliance
- Acting as a key contact for auditors, tax advisors, and authorities
- Ensuring full compliance with Belgian legal and accounting requirements
Operations & Projects
- Overseeing accounts payable, receivable, and fixed assets
- Improving accounting processes and strengthening internal controls
- Contributing to ERP and system optimization projects
- Participating in cross-functional and international initiatives
Your Profile:
You are a highly skilled accounting professional who thrives in a challenging and fast-paced environment and brings strong technical expertise.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics
- At least 5 years of relevant accounting experience in Belgium
- Very strong technical accounting skills, with deep knowledge of Belgian GAAP and VAT
- Good understanding of Belgian corporate taxation
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, Odoo, etc.)
- Advanced Excel skills
- Fluent in French and Dutch
- Professional proficiency in English
- Accurate, structured, and detail-oriented
- Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset
- Able to communicate clearly with both finance and non-finance stakeholders

- Salary varying from €5500-€6000 gross, depending on experience.
