Warehouse Operative Location: Heysham Shift Pattern: Rotating weekly – Week 1: 08:00–16:00 | Week 2: 09:30–17:30 Contract Type: 12 Month Full-Time Hourly Rate: £12.65
I’m currently recruiting on behalf of a well‑established client in Heysham who is looking for a committed and detail‑focused Warehouse Operative to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys a varied workload, and is keen to contribute to a high‑performing warehouse operation.
In this role, you’ll support the efficient handling of UK and export shipments, maintain compliance with transport and safety regulations, and play an active part in continuous improvement across the site.
Key Responsibilities

Receiving, unpacking, and accurately booking in goods using internal computer systems.

Locating bulk and pre‑pack items within the appropriate hazard‑classified warehouses.

Picking stock for repack orders and returning bulk items to correct storage locations.

Completing cycle counts in line with work instructions.

Investigating and resolving Not on Location (NOL) discrepancies.

Picking UK and export shipments using pick lists and reporting any non‑conforming items.

Following packing and labelling instructions precisely to meet transport regulations.

Assisting with the collation and loading of export shipments, ensuring accuracy and full documentation.

Using third‑party systems such as courier platforms and MSDS resources.

Handling fine chemicals in accordance with CEM (Chemical Exposure Management) guidelines.

Maintaining stock levels of consumables and following correct requisition procedures.

Operating trained equipment safely and reporting any defects to leadership.

Keeping all required records and documentation up to date.

Adhering to site security, environmental, and quality policies (EMS/QMS).

Following all relevant health and safety procedures.

Supporting Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing initiatives.

Carrying out additional duties within capability as required.
Experience Required

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.

Previous warehouse experience is highly desirable.

A forklift licence or training is a significant advantage.
