Our client, a respected leader in their field, is seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Operative to support their operations team in Bishops Stortford.

About the Role

As a Manufacturing Operative, you will play a key part in the operational workflow, ensuring materials, equipment, and documentation are handled accurately and efficiently. You’ll follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instructions, and GMP guidelines to support the assembly, materials handling, and packaging processes.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys routine, values accuracy, and can keep pace with a busy production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Pulling materials accurately using internal software systems
  • Picking and packing client orders with precision
  • Booking courier transport and ensuring timely dispatch
  • Completing GMP documentation accurately and on time
  • Receiving and recording biological sample deliveries
  • Maintaining and balancing inventory levels
  • Disposing of materials in line with guidelines
  • Adhering strictly to SOPs and EHS regulations
  • Supporting compliance with MHRA (GMP), HTA, and ISO 9001:2015 standards
  • Ensuring all paperwork is completed in real time
  • Demonstrating professional and appropriate workplace behaviours
  • Carrying out client‑specific tasks, including email communication
  • Working in a repository environment involving dry ice, LN2, and hazardous agents

Physical & Environmental Requirements

  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced, controlled cleanroom environment for 8‑hour shifts (with overtime as required)
  • Willingness to wear full gowning PPE (gloves, hair/beard net, face covering, safety glasses, etc.)
  • Understanding of chemical hygiene and safe PPE use
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 lbs unassisted
  • Comfortable with standing, bending, reaching, and other physical tasks
  • Ability to use hand tools and equipment requiring gripping, pushing, and pulling
