Manufacturing operative –Basingstoke RG24 Shifts: Monday to Friday, rotating between 06:00–14:00 and 14:00–22:00 Contract Type: 3 month temporary  Full-Time Hourly Rate: £13.79

 

We are recruiting on behalf of our client for a Manufacturing Operative to join their dynamic and fast-paced production team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out the manufacturing process in line with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Work Instruction Documents, and technical blueprints/drawings.

This role requires adherence to Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and the ability to thrive in a collaborative environment where teamwork, multitasking, and clear communication are essential.

 

Key Responsibilities

What will you do?

  • Follows Manufacturing SOPs.
  • Completes Production Floor paperwork, including SOPs as required by the Quality System. Records information such as weight, time and date packaged.
  • Starts, stops, and supervises speed of conveyors
  • Assists with validation of equipment
  • Reads and understands work orders to successfully set up material on production line, and verify and count the amounts required as per work order.
  • Inspects material, products and containers at each set up of production process.
  • Inserts or pours product into containers or fills from spout or chute.
  • Obtains and sort product.
  • Wraps protective material around product.
  • Weighs containers and adjusts quantity.
  • Closes and seals containers.
  • Labels containers, container tags, or products.
  • Sorts bundles or filled containers.
  • Packs special arrangements or selections of product.
  • Inspects material, products and container configurations each set up of packaging process.
  • Line Clearance – responsible to reconciliation and disposal of materials related to the job.
  • Clean and sanitize work areas, machines, glassware or equipment as needed.
  • Responsible for following ISO/cGMP Quality System Regulations with focus on SOP completion accuracy, product quality, and housekeeping activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Secondary Education, Advanced Certificate, or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a laboratory or manufacturing environment (work or academic training).

Skills & Competencies

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Ability to adapt to changing schedules and priorities.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.
  • Experience using manufacturing systems such as QAD and AGILE.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks under deadlines.
  • Commitment to safety standards, including use of PPE and chemical hygiene practices.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and manipulate up to 50 lbs unassisted (infrequently).
  • Standing, reaching, bending, stooping, and grasping throughout shifts.
  • Use of hand tools and equipment requiring gripping, pushing, and pulling.
  • Compliance with safety requirements (e.g., safety glasses, no jewellery/makeup in production areas).
