The Transport Readiness and Contingency Manager will document, track and coordinate the Transport FA testing and readiness activities on behalf of the Transport partnership with Transport for West Midlands. Working with the Transport leads for the Organising Committee, Transport for West Midlands, Birmingham City Council, West Midlands Police and other partners, the role will prepare the teams for their involvement in all integrated exercises across the Games.
Responsibilities
- Working with partners to establish an integrated Transport C3 model that puts in place effective protocols at Games time to facilitate effective coordination, reporting and decision making that enables time critical decisions to be made to support the overall success of the Transport program for the Games, whilst delivering against stakeholder expectations.
- Define Transport’s C3 structure working with functional areas, venue teams, partners and suppliers.
- Lead the design and delivery of the Organising Committee’s Transport Operations Coordination Centre (TROC) desks to the Regional Transport Coordination Centre, the communication and coordination hub for the Organising Committee’s Transport operations for the Games, including development and implementation of detailed operating plans and training.
- Coordinate the development of Transport FA contingency plans.
- Develop Transport FA integration exercises, including scenario development and evaluation requirements.
Skills and Experience
Essential
- Fluent in spoken and written English.
- Experience in planning testing and readiness activities for Transport operations across a broad range of stakeholders.
- Experienced at decision making with multiple stakeholders to deliver effective operational solutions.
- Skilled at synthesising complex information into well defined, and easily communicated plans for implementation.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, frequently under pressure, on multiple tasks.
Desirable
- Experience in the design and delivery of C3 models for Transport in a complex stakeholder environment.
- Experience in the planning and operation of a major sport event and/or multi-sport event environment including working in an operations control centre.
- Experience writing contingency plans and coordinating with other program areas.
Location: This role is based in Birmingham, England, and requires the successful candidate to be office based full-time.
Salary: £50,000-55,000 per annum
