Job Role: LCV Fitter

Location: Sizewell

Duration: Long - term (2 years +)

Pay rate: £19.10 per hour

Our client Sizewell is looking for experienced and reliable LCV mechanic to inspect, maintain, and repair a wide range of LGV’s. This role ensures vehicles remain safe, compliant, and fully operational to support production and site efficiency.  

Duties

• Carry out routine servicing, maintenance and repairs on LGVs, trailers, and associated fleet vehicles.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic faults.
• Ensure all work meets DVSA, manufacturer, and company compliance requirements.
• Complete preventative maintenance tasks and defect rectification.
• Replace and repair components such as brakes, clutches, suspension, steering systems, gearboxes, and engines.
• Conduct roadside breakdown repairs when required.
• Maintain accurate job sheets, service records, and inspection documentation.
• Keep the workshop and equipment safe, clean, and well maintained.

Requirements:

• Hands-on technical experience, and the ability to work autonomously or as part of a maintenance team.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic skills and experience working on LGVs.
• Familiarity with reading schematics and technical diagrams is essential.
• Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment is required.
• Strong mechanical knowledge related to vehicle systems and components.
• Previous experience in equipment repair or general maintenance is advantageous.
• Good communication and reporting skills.

Qualifications:

• CSCS & HSE CITB Test
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair (or equivalent).
• City & Guilds Light Vehicle qualifications (desirable).
• MOT Tester licence (beneficial).
• Abrasive Wheels
• LOTO - Electrical Safety Briefing (or equivalent).
• Full UK driving licence
• All candidates will have to undergo vetting
