About the role

Reporting into the Principal Engineer, you will provide technical leadership across primary assets with a particular focus on power transformers and transmission infrastructure.

You will work closely with asset management, operations, field engineering and regulatory teams to drive asset strategies, risk management plans and refurbishment programs. The position plays a key role in maintaining network safety, reliability and long-term asset performance while supporting future network growth.

This role will also involve contributing to regulatory submissions, developing maintenance strategies, supporting incident investigations and identifying opportunities to improve operational practices through innovation and emerging technologies.

Duties

  • Lead asset strategies and work plans for transmission primary assets
  • Guide refurbishment, renewal and network reliability programs
  • Support risk reviews, failure investigations and technical decisions
  • Mentor engineers and share technical expertise across the business
  • Develop business cases, specifications and maintenance strategies

Skills & experience

  • Degree qualification in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Strong experience within transmission, utilities or heavy infrastructure environments
  • Deep knowledge of primary assets including power transformers
  • Understanding of asset management frameworks, standards and regulatory requirements
  • Ability to lead technical reviews, investigations and strategic asset planning
