Vinova are working with a leading construction business to appoint a Senior Design Manager to lead the design process across high-profile data centre developments.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of complex, multidisciplinary projects, influence key design decisions and play a critical role in delivering some of Australia's most sophisticated infrastructure.

The Opportunity

You'll take a senior position within the project delivery team, with responsibility for driving design outcomes from early development through construction and handover.

Working across highly technical data centre environments, you'll have the opportunity to influence design strategy, improve buildability and drive value engineering initiatives that directly impact project success.

You'll work closely with experienced project teams, specialist consultants and key stakeholders, with the autonomy to challenge designs, resolve complex technical issues and shape how projects are delivered.

About the Role

As Senior Design Manager, you'll oversee the design process across all project stages, ensuring technical requirements, construction programs, budgets and quality expectations are met.

You'll collaborate with Project Managers, engineering teams, external consultants and subcontractors to ensure designs are coordinated, buildable and aligned with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the end-to-end design process across major data centre construction projects

• Manage multidisciplinary consultants, design programs, technical reviews and approvals

• Drive value engineering, design optimisation and buildability improvements

• Identify and resolve design risks, technical challenges and coordination issues

• Support procurement, construction delivery, commissioning and project handover

Skills & Experience

• Strong design management experience within a Tier 1 or Tier 2 construction environment

• Background in complex construction projects, ideally data centres, mission-critical facilities or major commercial developments

• Technical understanding of structural, architectural and building services design

• Experience managing consultants, design documentation, construction programs and stakeholder relationships

• Relevant qualifications in engineering, architecture or construction management
