W2 Contract
Salary Range: $104,000 - $124,800 per year
Location: South San Francisco, CA - Hybrid Role
Job Summary:
We are looking for an experienced and results-driven consultant to support the General Counsel in evaluating, optimizing, and implementing efficient legal workflows and systems. This contract role is ideal for a legal operations professional or project manager with a strong track record of driving operational efficiency in legal or compliance environments, especially in highly regulated industries such as biotech or pharma.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Analyze existing legal workflows (e.g., contract review, compliance tracking, litigation holds, document management) to identify inefficiencies, pain points, and risk areas.
- Design & Recommend Improvements:
- Propose streamlined workflows, SOPs, and tool enhancements aimed at reducing manual work, turnaround times, and operational risk.
- Set up or improve contract lifecycle management tools, intake forms, playbooks, and template libraries.
- Develop Metrics & Dashboards:
- Create simple reporting tools to track legal team performance, compliance status, and process improvements.
- Document improvements and processes clearly to ensure sustainability and knowledge continuity after the engagement ends.
- Collaborate with departments including Compliance, Quality, Finance, HR, and Regulatory to ensure alignment on legal touchpoints and standard operating procedures.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree required in Business, Legal, or applicable field
- 5-10 years of experience in operation excellence, project management, or business process improvement within a legal department, ideally in biotech, life sciences, or high tech.
- Demonstrated success in process optimization and or operations department enablement.
- Strong project management capabilities; PMP cert preferred
- Experience implementing or improving legal tools (e.g., CLM, policy libraries, intake systems).
- Exceptional analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision while aligning closely with legal leadership.
