Senior Clinical SAS Programmer

W2 Contract

Salary Range: $124,800 - $145,600 per year

Location: Redwood City, CA - Hybrid Role

Job Summary:

As a Senior Clinical Data Manager, you will be responsible for all aspects of the data management process, from developing project documentation, system set-up, User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and routine data review through database lock of clinical trials.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform clinical SAS programming to support data management and analysis activities for oncology trials.
  • Collaborate with data managers, biostatisticians, clinical operations, and vendors to review and finalize data transfer specifications and ensure data integrity.
  • Develop and validate listings, reconciliation reports, dashboards, and metrics to support clinical review and regulatory deliverables.
  • Generate outputs and datasets in compliance with regulatory standards (CDISC, 21 CFR Part 11, ICH, GCP) and contribute to NDA submissions.
  • Participate in creating and maintaining SAS macros, programming standards, SOPs, and process documentation.
  • Conduct and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT), database lock activities, and audit readiness.
  • Support internal and external data reviews, providing timely responses and high-quality data reports.
  • Address and resolve data discrepancies with cross-functional teams

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant scientific or technical discipline
  • Minimum of 6 years of clinical data analysis/programming experience in pharma or biotech (CRO experience acceptable if blended with sponsor-side work)
  • Oncology trial experience across Phases I–III is required.
  • Strong proficiency in SAS programming, including macro development and data manipulation
  • Hands-on experience with EDC platforms and clinical data management systems
  • Knowledge of CRF annotation and CDISC (SDTM and ADaM) standards
  • Familiarity with data review and reconciliation processes
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with strong cross-functional collaboration

Preferred Qualifications:

  • SAS certification
  • Exposure to tools such as Medidata Rave, Business Objects, Crystal Reports, Spotfire, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Experience with programming automation and batch scripting
