Van Driver – Inverness, UK (temporary 6 - 8 weeks)

Our client, a Highland based business, is looking for a temporary Van Driver for 6 - 8 weeks, to start immediately, to assist them during their busy summer season.  
Job Responsibilities

• Safely operate a van to deliver goods to clients across Inverness and surrounding areas.
• Ensure timely and accurate delivery, maintaining high standards of customer service.
• Conduct pre and post trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with road regulations.
• Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs, including delivery notes and mileage records.
• Follow all health and safety procedures and company policies during daily operations.
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and customers to coordinate deliveries and resolve any issues.
• Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring proper handling and securing of items.
• Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly to management for appropriate action.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Valid UK Category B (Car) driving licence; a clean driving record is preferred.
• Previous experience as a van driver or in a similar logistics role is preferred.
• Good knowledge of Inverness and surrounding areas for efficient route planning.
• Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Basic knowledge of vehicle maintenance and safety checks.
• Flexibility to work varied shifts, including early mornings or weekends if required.
• Proficiency in using handheld devices or GPS systems for navigation and delivery tracking.
• Physically fit, there is a degree of heavy lifting in this role.
