Asbestos Officer (JAMC632) Hammersmith and Fulham, England

A Local Authority based in West London is looking for an Asbestos Technical Support Officer to join their team. This is a full time, temporary ongoing agency role and the successful candidate must have a full working knowledge of Asbestos surveys/removals, experience in an office based Technical Support role and ideally a strong background in local authority settings.
The main purpose of the role is to support the operational management of asbestos by providing technical and administrative support to the Client asbestos team.
This role is also key in generating data to allow effective performance and compliance management.
The role includes reviewing survey and removal documentation and providing technical support and advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to routine asbestos enquiries.
The main responsibilities of the role are as follows;
Provide technical and business support to Asbestos Manager and Asbestos Contract Managers
Update the asbestos register following asbestos remediation work
Run reports from the Asbestos Register/compliance software to monitor compliance
Raise orders for asbestos surveys and remediation work
Vary and complete work orders for asbestos surveys and remediation work in line with the
contracts
Run reports from systems to monitor contractor performance
Review asbestos surveys and identify required actions
Review licenced asbestos removal contractor’s risk assessments, method statements and collating all relevant documentation
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following;
Previous experience in managing databases and supporting operational teams.
Experience working in social housing or similar environment.
The technical ability to undertake and satisfactorily complete P405 Managing Asbestos in Buildings training.
Science based qualification (A level or equivalent)
A good understanding of health and safety legislation in relation to asbestos
Computer literate in MS Office products: Excel, Outlook, Power Point.
The client is looking to move quickly with appointing to this position and as such is offering an hourly rate of £25 p/hour Umbrella Ltd (Approx. £620 p/week after deductions). This position falls inside of IR35, so personal Ltd companies cannot be used to process pay.
