Overview:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Materials Controller to manage the flow of materials within our company. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing inventory levels, ensuring accurate stock records, coordinating with suppliers, and maintaining efficient material handling processes. The Materials Controller will play a vital role in optimizing inventory management and supporting the smooth operation of our organization.

 

Responsibilities:

 

Inventory Management:

  • Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to meet production and operational needs.
  • Conduct regular stock checks and reconcile discrepancies between physical stock and records.
  • Implement efficient inventory control procedures to minimize stock shortages or overages.

 

Material Procurement and Planning:

  • Collaborate with procurement teams to forecast material needs and ensure timely replenishment.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to confirm orders, track deliveries, and resolve any issues related to quality or quantity.
  • Evaluate suppliers based on quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

 

Record-Keeping and Documentation:

  • Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, transactions, and supplier information.
  • Generate reports on inventory performance, stock movement, and consumption patterns.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies regarding material handling and documentation.

Process Improvement:

  • Identify opportunities to streamline material handling processes and optimize inventory control systems.
  • Implement best practices for inventory management, including the use of technology and automation where applicable.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance overall operational efficiency.

Quality Control:

  • Collaborate with quality assurance teams to ensure incoming materials meet specified standards.
  • Conduct inspections and quality checks on received materials to prevent defects or issues in production.
