  • Holiday accrued and paid when you have time off – this is worth an additional £2.02ph (i.e. 28 days per annum pro rata)
  • 4 days on / 4 days off
  • Day shifts only - 08:00 to 20:00
  • Average 40.25 paid hours per week
  • Weekly pay (Thursday evenings / Friday mornings)

Following successful completion of the temporary period, the intention is for you to join the business permanently on a salary of £35,000 per annum, with a performance-based annual pay review. Permanent employees also receive an £80 wellness bonus subject to the employer's qualifying criteria.

As Warehouse Shift Supervisor, you'll take ownership of the smooth day-to-day running of your shift, balancing people management, productivity, quality and compliance. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a warehouse and packing team of approximately 9 to 15 people, supported by a working Team Leader
  • Opening and closing the site and undertaking keyholder responsibilities
  • Organising daily workloads and ensuring individual and team targets are achieved
  • Ensuring orders are picked, packed and prepared accurately and on time
  • Maintaining the exceptionally high standards of accuracy required when handling healthcare products and medicines
  • Reviewing the previous day's performance with senior management and identifying opportunities for improvement
  • Training and supporting new permanent and temporary employees
  • Planning staffing levels and holiday cover, including coordinating agency requirements
  • Monitoring warehouse Health & Safety and activities that could affect patient safety
  • Overseeing the shipping operation and ensuring orders leave with the correct transport providers
  • Supporting inbound deliveries and checking stock, including medicines and food products
  • Completing stock counts, expiry-date checks and other stock-quality procedures
  • Helping improve picking and packing accuracy, productivity and working practices
  • Maintaining excellent warehouse and housekeeping standards

Full training will be provided on the company's Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and specific processes.

What We're Looking For

You do not need previous pharmaceutical experience to be considered. We're particularly interested in candidates who have:

  • Previous experience within a busy picking and packing warehouse
  • Experience at Warehouse Team Leader, Shift Leader or Supervisor level
  • Experience supervising, motivating and organising warehouse or packing teams
  • Strong communication skills and the confidence to manage people effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • The ability to maintain accuracy while working in a fast-paced environment
  • Good organisational and time-management skills
  • The ability to confidently follow and enforce written procedures and processes
  • A proactive attitude towards improving productivity, accuracy and ways of working
  • A good standard of spoken and written English
  • The flexibility and reliability required to work a 4-on / 4-off rotation

Previous experience handling medicines, food, healthcare products or working within another regulated environment would be particularly advantageous, but isn't essential. Previous MHE experience/licences, including Bendi or Counterbalance, may also be beneficial.

Why Apply?

The products being picked, packed and dispatched ultimately go to patients, meaning the quality and accuracy of your team's work genuinely matters. You'll have the opportunity to join a growing operation, take ownership of your own shift and develop within a business where good ideas and improvements to working practices are encouraged.
