Financial Analyst

About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join a growing insurance organization and support an expanding finance function. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in accounting or FP&A who are ready to work with complex data processes, business analytics, and reinsurance operations.

As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for critical reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis, enabling leadership to make informed strategic decisions. This is a highly visible role with strong growth potential.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Data Preparation & Reconciliation

• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for insurance entities and internal management reporting.

• Prepare journal entries related to premiums, losses, and commissions.

• Validate claims reporting and escrow account activity.

• Develop reporting schedules and dashboards for senior management and board presentations.

Reinsurance Support

• Maintain reinsurance billing processes and inventory records.

• Reconcile reinsurance data and assist in preparing supporting schedules.

Reporting & Analytics

• Perform large data extractions and transform raw data into actionable insights for finance leadership.

• Conduct routine reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or changes.

• Assist with system testing for new automation tools prior to implementation.

• Create and improve Excel-based reporting templates as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

• 2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or insurance operations.

• Prior exposure to property & casualty (P&C) insurance preferred; reinsurance experience a plus.

• Strong Excel skills (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS).

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools preferred.

• Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and communication skills.
