Financial Analyst
About the Role
We are seeking a Financial Analyst to join a growing insurance organization and support an expanding finance function. This position is ideal for individuals with experience in accounting or FP&A who are ready to work with complex data processes, business analytics, and reinsurance operations.
As a key member of the finance team, you will be responsible for critical reporting, reconciliation, and data analysis, enabling leadership to make informed strategic decisions. This is a highly visible role with strong growth potential.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Data Preparation & Reconciliation

Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual closings for insurance entities and internal management reporting.

Prepare journal entries related to premiums, losses, and commissions.

Validate claims reporting and escrow account activity.

Develop reporting schedules and dashboards for senior management and board presentations.
Reinsurance Support

Maintain reinsurance billing processes and inventory records.

Reconcile reinsurance data and assist in preparing supporting schedules.
Reporting & Analytics

Perform large data extractions and transform raw data into actionable insights for finance leadership.

Conduct routine reconciliations and investigate discrepancies or changes.

Assist with system testing for new automation tools prior to implementation.

Create and improve Excel-based reporting templates as needed.
Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

2+ years of experience in accounting, financial analysis, or insurance operations.

Prior exposure to property & casualty (P&C) insurance preferred; reinsurance experience a plus.

Strong Excel skills (including PivotTables, VLOOKUP, and SUMIFS).

Familiarity with Microsoft Power BI or other data visualization tools preferred.

Excellent attention to detail, organizational abilities, and communication skills.
