Research Manager (Application and Funding) (J4788) Southampton, England

Salary: GBP22 - GBP24 per hour

Are you passionate about improving health and wellbeing through research? We are looking for a dynamic and dedicated Research Manager to join our Application & Funding team at the NIHR Evaluation, Trials and Studies Coordinating Centre (NETSCC). In this role, you will manage a portfolio of research activities, support researchers, and engage with stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of our funding programs. Main Responsibilities

  • Manage Research Projects: Oversee a portfolio of research activities, ensuring they align with health improvement goals.
  • Project Management: Lead and contribute to various projects within the team.
  • Analysis and Reporting: Assess issues, prepare reports, and support decision-making.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Training and Development: Participate in and deliver training to enhance skills.
  • Team Management: Manage tasks, delegate effectively, and develop staff.

 

Ideal Candidate

  • Qualifications: HND, Degree, NVQ4, or equivalent.
  • Experience: Project management, understanding the health research landscape, and using complex information systems.
  • Skills: Problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and influencing.
  • Behaviours: Collaboration, excellence, impact, inclusion, and effectiveness.

 

Special Requirements

  • Travel: Occasional travel to London and Birmingham, including overnight stays.
  • Flexibility: Ability to accommodate early/late meetings with international partners.
