A Senior Embedded Systems Engineer is needed by a growing Technology company in the Gloucester area
THE ROLE
The primary focus of the Senior Embedded Systems Engineer role is to work with in a small multi-disciplinary team on architecture of embedded software projects including specifying, writing, testing and documenting software for next generation scientific instrumentation using a mixture of C and C++. You will work with prototype hardware and write C/C++ code for microcontrollers (including hardware drivers) using software development tools e.g., IDEs, ALM Tools etc. You will also deliver creative/novel and scalable solutions, write engineering tools in Windows (C#/.NET etc.) and develop user interfaces. Occasional travel to the USA may be required
YOUR SKILLS
As a Senior Embedded Systems Engineer you will need 5 years’ experience in a similar role, ideally having already worked in a regulated industry e.g. Medical, Aerospace, Automotive. You will need a degree in a Software, Electronics or related Engineering or Science degree
The ideal Senior Embedded Systems Engineer will have experience of C and C++ on embedded platforms, with some Windows programming experience. You will need to show strong technical skills, an aptitude to understand new technologies quickly and have an appreciation of regulated development practices.
Just as important, you must be very personable and come across as being a good fit for a small tight-knit team, You will need to demonstrate a friendly demeanor and an ability to fit in with others at interview. Experience with ARM Cortex M4 processor or similar, implementing control algorithms, reading electronic schematics and working with oscilloscopes and logic analyzers are all strong advantages.
