Manufacturing Engineer

Manufacturing Engineer (J836MEAJ) Spennymoor, England

Salary: GBP35000 - GBP40000 per annum + benefits

A Manufacturing Engineer is needed to join an engineering team within an established business in the Spennymoor area.

As a Manufacturing Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that all processes and tooling are in place and proven for parts and products manufactured by the business.

Key duties and responsibilities will include

 Evaluation of manufacturing processes based on part / product requirements identifying the most efficient and robust method of manufacture.

  • Liaise with other manufacturing engineers and operational areas to ensure correct manufacturing data is issued for production.
  • Organise and manage manufacturing workflows and resources.
  • Design and install tooling and jigs.
  • Develop and test effective automated and manual systems where necessary.
  • Study production and machine requirements.
  • Optimise facility layouts, production lines, machine operations.
  • Resolve issues and delays in production.
  • Find ways to reduce costs and maximise quality.
  • Collaborate with other engineers, customers and suppliers.
  • Ensure that manufacturing procedures follow safety and environmental regulations.

KEY SKILLS

The successful candidate will ideally have a degree / HND in an Engineering discipline and previous

experience as a manufacturing engineer or similar role.  A background in sheet-metal manufacturing and a good knowledge of manufacturing processes, fabrication methods and tool design would be a strong advantage.  You will need to be proficient with CAD/ CAM systems and have a familiarity with manufacturing equipment and quality assurance techniques.

Personal qualities will include good change management and communication skills are essential as the ability to handle several projects simultaneously.  Good problem solving skills and the ability to understand a wide range of technical issues and a general knowledge of all aspects of the development process.
