Production Operative – Salmon Factory (Grimsby)

Location: Grimsby, DN31 3HF

Pay: £13.11 per hour

Contract: Temporary - temp to perm for the right candidates

Shifts

• Monday–Friday: 6:00am – finish (normally 3:00pm–4:00pm)
• Every other Saturday: 6:00am – finish (usually 12:00pm) paid at x1.25

(Finish times can vary depending on production, so flexibility is required.)

The Role

We’re recruiting Production Operatives to join a busy salmon processing factory in Grimsby. You’ll support the production line in preparing, processing and packing fresh and frozen fish products, working to high food safety standards.

Duties include

• Adding fresh/frozen fish to and from the production line
• Pin-boning, scraping, trimming and general fish preparation
• De-heading and processing tasks
• Defrosting
• Packing products ready for dispatch
• Weighing, grading and labelling
• Manual handling and moving products as required
• Keeping the work area clean and tidy
• Adhering to Health & Safety and Food Hygiene regulations at all times
• Working in a cold environment (PPE provided)

What we’re looking for

• Reliable and punctual (early starts)
• Comfortable working in chilled conditions and a fast-paced environment
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions
• Production/food factory experience helpful but not essential (training provided)
• Must be able to work every other Saturday as part of the rota
