For a large international client of Huxley we are looking for a sr Data Engineer that is proficient in both Scala & Spark.

• (Ultimate) Startdate: 1^st of December
• Duration: 12 months (with possibility of extension)
• Location (Hybrid working): Hoofddorp Area
• Fulltime:32/40 hours

Responsibilities:

• Build real-time data pipelines for operational insights
• Utilize latest technologies in big data and distributed computing
• Enable data-driven decision-making and operational support
• Collaborate on architecture design with senior software engineers
• Evaluate technology choices for optimal solutions

Ideal Candidate:

• Skills & Experience (80% required):
• 5+ years in production software engineering (preferably with Scala)
• Familiarity with functional programming
• Event-driven architectures (Kafka is a plus)
• Proficiency in SQL and NoSQL databases (HBase is a plus)
• Experience in big data/distributed computing engines (Spark, Akka, ZIO)
• Knowledge of at least one cloud computing platform (GCP, Azure, AWS)
• Language Skills:
• Fluent in English, Dutch proficiency is a plus
• Personal Attributes:
• Demonstrates ownership and takes initiative
• Can work independently
• Team player and familiar with Agile methodologies
• Quick learner in domain knowledge and effective collaboration with stakeholders
