Data Engineer – SQL/Python – London/Remote

Data Engineer required for an established organisation who are currently progressing through an exciting period of transformation, where you will play a key part in the ensuring the organisations data pipeline are reliable and perform efficiently, whilst supporting overall data project delivery. This will involve developing related data flows and data structures in a reporting data warehouse, and developing data integrations with other systems.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with strong SQL skills and some experience with python scripting. The role will initially be a 12 month FTC.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain the structure of the reporting database and related data flows and transformations.
  • Combine data from multiple sources for delivering business intelligence. 
  • Design, code, verify, test, document, amend and refactor complex scripts and data integration services to support the delivery of business intelligence and analytics capabilities.
  • Develop, maintain and enhance database reporting views and semantic layers.
  • Ensure technical solutions support the accessibility, retrievability, security, quality, retention and ethical handling of specific sets of data. 

Key Skills of the role

  • Experience of working with a diverse range of systems and applying complex data engineering techniques to resolve complex technical problems.
  • Experience designing, coding, testing and correcting complex SQL models and Python scripts.
  • System/Data integration experience, including application programming interface design, and familiarity with web-oriented architecture techniques.
  • Experience taking responsibility for driving own development, maintaining an awareness of developing data engineering practices and their application.
  • Ability to clearly communicate complex technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Salary

The salary/package for this position is between £55,000 – £60,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and flexible working.
