Business Development Manager – Tech Start-Up – Birmingham

Business Development Manager required for a rapidly expanding Tech Start-up based in Birmingham, where you will be responsible for leading the strategic direction and delivery of attracing new clients, working alongside the Directors to grow the company even further. Due to the current size of the organisation, you will get involved in a number of activities outside of pure new business, including account management, customer journey and working with internal teams to ensure efficient and quality delivery.

The ideal candidate will have previous business development experience, and will preferably will have a solid understanding of tech/sales/IT.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a short, mid and long-term growth strategy focused on increasing sales, maximizing income and customer satisfaction.
  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.
  • To be the main point of contact between potential customers and the company, managing the relationship and the customer journey from initial conversation to onboarding of the customer.
  • New Business acquisition.
  • Arrange/conduct business meetings with existing and prospective clients throughout the UK.
  • Build long-term relationships with new and existing customers.
  • Managing stakeholder expectations
  • Prepare sales contracts & presentations

Key Skills of the role

  • Previous business development experience, preferably from a tech/IT environment.
  • Able to demonstrate strong customer relationship/negotiation skills.
  • Passionate about delivering a good customer experience/journey.
  • Excellent written, verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Good with presentations and slides creation skill
  • Must be computer literate and have technical background.

Salary

The basic salary for this position is up to £40,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus excellent benefits and commission scheme.
