2nd Line IT Support Engineer – Central London
2nd Line IT Support Engineer required for a global organisation based in Central London, where you will be responsible for supporting desktops, laptops, tablet devices, mobile devices, and other peripherals and software within a Wintel environment. You will be the point of escalation for global teams (providing remote support) and will be required to provide hands-on support.
This is an ideal opportunity for a confident 2nd line IT support professional to take the next step in their IT career, with the opportunity to progress into specialist infrastructure positions in the long-term.
Key Responsibilities of the role
- Configuring, maintaining and supporting Windows based Desktops and Laptops via SCCM.
- Installing and configuring additional bespoke software.
- Troubleshooting and investigating network connectivity issues (TCP/IP, patching).
- Managing and supporting mobile devices (iPhones).
- Receiving escalations from remote service desk team requiring hands-on support/ 2nd line intervention.
- Print management support, i.e. adding printers to the domain, (not replacing toners).
- Supporting AV and Video Conference equipment setup (not for meetings, for offices). Carrying out the spec and ensuring the solutions we provide are fit for purpose.
- Providing technical support on projects currently working 5 projects to EMEA
- Managing third parties and suppliers
- Deploying O365 including ODFB
- Troubleshooting images via WDS & SCCM beneficial
Key Skills of the role
- Commercial experience gained in a challenging 2nd line IT support position.
- Excellent communicator, with great interpersonal skills.
- Ideal candidate will have the ability to prioritise and work under pressure, and
- Ability to work in a team environment with a customer service focus.
- The ideal candidate will have experience working with:
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange
- Office365
- Windows 7-10 Support Capabilities
- MDM Experience
- SCCM Experience
- The ideal candidate will have understanding/exposure to ITIL, and preferably will have completed the certification.
- There will also be some travel in the role, so you must be flexible with travelling.
Salary
The salary for this position is up to £35,000 per annum, dependent on the experience. Including excellent benefits (excellent pension, private healthcare etc). This role is also a 35 hour week with no weekend working and no on-call (unless absolutely essential; office move etc.).
