Position: Database Administration Lead
The role requires an experienced professional who has a thorough practical knowledge and technical skills in database principles such as database design and normalisation. Advanced knowledge of MS SQL Server, including provisioning, securing, maintenance, performance tuning, patching to the latest patch levels, clustering/resilience, disaster recovery, backup/recovery methods and troubleshooting.
This post represents an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience of Database Administration to further develop their specialist knowledge and skills.

- The provision of new databases to hardened specification
- DBA support
- Database tuning
- Database backup and restore processes
Key Skills
- The provision of new databases to hardened specification
- Database performance tuning and maintenance
- Database backup and restore processes
- Database troubleshooting
- SQL Development - ability to write and troubleshoot SQL Code and design ( stored procs, functions, tables, views, triggers, indexes, constraints )
- Knowledge of best practices in IT and working within in an ITIL Framework.
- To provide a professional front when dealing with colleagues at all levels.
- Good general knowledge of workflows within pathology and/or healthcare settings.
Desirable skills
- Experience of Solarwinds
- Background in Healthcare industry from an administration perspective
- Experience with implementing operational automation.
Salary: £50,000 and £65,000 per annum plus benefits.
