Cyber Security Analyst – Birmingham/Flexible
Cyber Security Analyst required for a leading organisation based in Birmingham City Centre. The ideal candidate will have previous IT Security/Cyber Security experience, along with working knowledge of IT security policies. A good working knowledge of domain methodologies and ability to run a root cause analysis on any breaches is also favourable for this role.
You will also be expected to identify cyber security threats before they occur, whilst reporting to the Senior IT security manager, delivering IT security services for the wider organisation.
Key Responsibilities of the Role
- Responsible for providing appropriate advice and guidance on information security for and ensuring all staff are informed of required security measures.
- Accountable for acting on vulnerability and threat information, to conduct security risk assessments for business applications and computer installations.
- Responsible for managing relationships with internal and external stakeholder groups to gain compliance with policy.
- Key accountability for monitoring & controlling security activities. As well as ensuring systems, methodology and processes are followed.
- Performing root cause analysis on IT Security breaches supporting the Senior IT Security Manager to deliver correct and timely information to stakeholders.
Key Skills of the Role
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced IT Security/Cyber Security position
- Ability to consider all relevant information to design and recommend appropriate solutions.
- Ability to apply security concepts and accurately communicate security and risk implications across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to design and review system architectures through the application of patterns and principles.
- Ability to work with risk owners to provide advice and feedback.
Salary
The salary for this position is based anywhere between £60k-£65k per annum, depending on experience. The organisation have an excellent benefits package and offer flexible working opportunities.
