IT Infrastructure Engineer - BAU/Projects - Chichester

IT Infrastructure Engineer required for a leading organisation based in the Chichester, where you will be responsible for providing reliable and high-performing infrastructure, communications and internal systems, including servers, networks, firewalls etc. Within the role, you will work in a small team of experience engineers working on a range of BAU tasks and infrastructure projects. This is an exciting time to join the business at a real time of growth and opportunity.

The ideal candidate for this role will have previous experience supporting an enterprise IT infrastructure environment, alongside proven experience with technical troubleshooting.

Key responsibilities

  • Ensure all environments are fit for purpose, resilient and prepared for all reasonable eventualities, including server rooms and kit deployed in the production facilities.
  • Create and maintain documentation relating to IT and processes and systems.
  • Ensure that projects provide robust and reliable service to the business and follow industry best practice.
  • Anticipate future business requirements and needs by evaluating new technologies, software, processes or methodologies to improve service to the business.
  • Ensuring technology is secured to best precise standards. Communicate immediate and long-term risks, vulnerabilities and issues that could affect business services and work with the business to remediate those risks.
  • Schedule outages, maintenance, downtime, tests or any work requiring service availability changes with relevant business units.

Key Skills

  • Experience with supporting an enterprise IT infrastructure.
  • In-depth experience with technical troubleshooting.
  • Advanced administration of Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS and DHCP
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Windows Server and client operating systems.
  • An understanding of core networking components.
  • Experience using enterprise level server virtualisation and cloud technologies.
  • Knowledge of database maintenance and administration.
  • Good theoretical and practical knowledge of LAN and WAN technologies.
  • Knowledge of basic cyber security best practises.

Salary

The salary my client is offering for this position is up to £40,000, plus excellent benefits & progression opportunities.
