The main purpose of the role is to lead the commercial and contract functions cross procurement frameworks and activity.  Your day-to-day activities will include ensuring that contractual and commercial arrangements are robust, compliant and aligned to acceptable risk profiles; that responsibilities and liabilities are communicated; advise stakeholders on the drafting of contractual documentation; manage a stock of core contracts, forms, and bespoke agreements; support the award of new contracts and associated governance; utilise specialist subject matter expertise to advise on JCT contracts, RICS consultancy appointments, TAC-1/FAC/similar contracts, material supply & framework contracts, and pre-construction services agreements.

 

Must Have

 

  • Previous experience in a strategic Commercial Management capacity within Social Housing Asset Management; Repairs & Maintenance, Construction/Residential Development, Technical Services, Building Safety & Compliance; and/or Sustainability, Energy Efficiency, and Decarbonisation.
  • Strong technical experience covering commercials in building systems, construction, building regulations, compliance requirements, and/or quantity surveying.
  • Legal requirements around Construction and housing law/social housing regulation.
  • Experience of standard construction contracts covering JCT, RICS, NEC Forms and RIBA.
  • Contract dispute resolution.
  • A relevant Certification or Degree, such as having or working towards FCILEx, ACILEx or an equivalent legal qualification.

 

Nice to Have

 

  • Public sector procurement principles, PA23, PCR 2015
  • Experience in supporting and advising on procurements and contract awards.
  • Project Management and technical specification development.
  • Experience of pricing models and complex building specifications.
  • Health and Safety or CDM regulations.
