£40,000 – £50,000  - 25 days + B/H – 25 days plus option to buy 5 more plus bank holidays, Bonus scheme based on company performance, Life Assurance 3x salary

A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for an Automation Engineer to join a rapidly growing Manufacturing company in the Hereford area.

Working to the Operations Director, to support Production and NPI to implement and install robotic and process improvement solutions to improve efficiencies.

 

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Identify ways to reduce labour requirements during production through development and innovation.
  • Manage the design, specification and manufacture of process, assembly, and test equipment for the introduction of new products or for the improvement of existing ones.
  • Develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing methods.
  • Collaborate for product design and development.
  • Communicate with suppliers for specifications of products.
  • Developing setting sheets for all new NPI and EC where required.
  • Ensure all jobs have suitable jigs and fixtures to increase efficiencies and reduce cycle times for processes.
  • Responsible for managing Process Modification Register (QMSR195) ensuring that issues with processes are investigated and resolved in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Responsible for ensuring that robotics are used wherever possible, designing and implementing 6-axis cells and introduction electronic and logic controls to automate where possible.
  • Comply with all ISO 13485 requirements.

 

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • An experienced Injection Moulding Technician, with experience of manufacturing products to tight tolerances, using high grade polymers.
  • Demonstrable experience of undertaking trials using injection molding machines, pad printing, ultrasonic welding and assembly cells, and producing associated reports (e.g. rheology studies and tool validation) to get NPI and EC production ready.
  • IMT4 Advanced Processing
  • Advanced PCL programming and control
  • Ultrasonic welding super-user, responsible for the maintenance of all equipment
