X8 Specialist Fitter Chargehands – HS2

Pay Rate: £32.85 per hour
Hours: Minimum 10-hour days
Project: HS2
Duration: Long-term work

We are currently recruiting for 8 Specialist Fitter Chargehands to join a long-term HS2 project. This is an excellent opportunity for experienced plant maintenance professionals with strong leadership skills and the relevant industry qualifications.

Successful candidates will have hands-on plant maintenance experience, the ability to lead and coordinate work on site, and a strong commitment to health and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate plant maintenance and fitting activities on site.

• Carry out maintenance, inspection, fault-finding and repair work on plant and equipment.

• Support the site team in planning and allocating daily tasks.

• Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to the required standards.

• Follow risk assessments, method statements and site-specific safety procedures.

• Ensure tools, equipment and work areas are maintained in a safe condition.

• Identify and report defects, faults and potential safety issues.

• Work collaboratively with site management and other trades to meet project deadlines.

• Promote safe working practices and ensure compliance with site health and safety requirements.

Essential Requirements

• NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance and Repair.

• Valid SSSTS certificate.

• Working at Height training/certificate.

• Previous experience in plant maintenance, fitting and repair.

• Experience working in a chargehand or supervisory capacity.

• Good understanding of site health and safety procedures.

• Ability to work effectively within a busy construction environment.
