Title: Java / API Developer (SC Cleared)
Location: Croydon
Rate: £550 a day Umbrella/ PAYE
Duration: 6months initially
My Global technical services client is currently looking for a skilled Java / API Developer to work in Croydon on a contractual basis to start on the ASAP.
*Please note due to a requirement from the client and their project a valid SC will need to be in place to start this role*
Project description:
My client is working with a partner reinventing national policing systems as a born-on-the-cloud solution on AWS using an API driven approach. The programme comprises a number of agile teams working collaboratively with the client and other supplier staff. Together they are building a data services platform using leading edge DevOps techniques to automate build, test and deployment alongside a range of test automation approaches. You’ll Have:
• Experience in building and supporting Java API services utilising Apache Camel and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Experience of Dev Ops CI / CD pipelines utilising Jenkins, GitLab, Maven and Artifactory.
• Experience of Test Driven Development, Cucumber, Junit.
• Design and develop high-volume, low-latency applications for mission-critical systems and deliver high-availability and performance in a Cloud environment
• Contribute in all phases of the development lifecycle – estimations
• Complete applications development by coordinating requirements, schedules, and activities; contributing to team meetings; troubleshooting development and production problems across multiple environments and operating platforms.
• Create documentation and assistance tools.
Nice to have skills:
• Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and technologies and presenting these for architectural review
• understanding of Agile methods
• Familiarity of SQL and non SQL databases
• Familiarity of Search Indexers
• Familiarity of Wiremock
• Experience of delivery to Public Sector clients
