£35,000+ (depending on experience)

Monday – Friday (fleible start/ finish times)

Our client is a small but stable business based near Soham Cambridgeshire. They specialise in the design and assembly of scientific machinery for a variety of R&D Environments. With a low turnover of staff, the company are now looking to bring on a mechanical engineer due to an upcoming retirement. Full training will be provided.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Produce 2D Drawings using DesignCAD
• Design vacuum-based instrumentation
• Utilize 3D for assembly reviews
• Design for Polymers, Alloys, Bronxe and Stainless Steel
• Work as the sole mechanical engineer after a hand-over period

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

• Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering
• Knowledge and experience of 2D and 3D Design
• Able to problem solve and take on new challenges
• Experience with Ultra high vacuum systems would be an advantage
• Experience of High-Voltage Ion-optics woulld be an advantage
