Responsibilities:

• Design and develop heavy-duty equipment systems, including bespoke load carriers and associated machinery.
• Create detailed technical drawings for complex mechanical systems, focusing on chassis, suspension, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
• Perform structural design for fabrication and welding, with a focus on sheet metal, jigs, fixtures, and custom-built components.
• Conduct stress analysis and structural calculations to ensure the safety and stability of the designs, using tools like Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
• Independently manage projects, from initial concept through to production, including working directly with the production team to resolve issues and ensure timely delivery.

Requirements:

• 5-10 years of experience in designing mechanical systems for heavy equipment, special purpose machinery, or industrial vehicles.
• HNC (minimum) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field, with preference given to candidates with a degree.
• Strong proficiency in 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks), with a focus on mechanical and structural design.
• Experience designing for welding and fabrication processes.
• Proven ability to independently manage projects, ensuring designs are completed on time and to specification.
