Diving Operations Manager

• To assist Management in the development of business plans delivering diving and related assets to the field which conforms to the requirements of the organisation and provide diving market and technical expertise in support of diving operations as required by Company Senior Management and Clients.

• To provide diving technical advice and specialist expertise to management to enable them to meet their business objectives.

• To ensure that all aspects of Health, Safety and Environmental management are implemented by global diving technical support network.

• Establishes, monitors and enforces minimum operating and training standards.

• Distribution and assimilation of industry developments, improvements, notices and general diving-related information from the international diving community.

• Continually review diving system performance and utilisation and to recommend improvements to enhance performance.

• Provision of marketing and tendering support to Operations and Commercial on an as requested basis.

• Provide tender review expertise and services to the Commercial Manager on an as requested basis.

 

• Work with QHSE and Operations to develop training and staff development initiatives.

• Assist in the development of project specific diving procedures and plans.

• Interface with clients to facilitate client’s requirements for diving operations

• Prepare the annual diving investment plan, quarterly and monthly financial and utilisation reports.

• Manage the insurance arrangements as they relate to diving services and equipment and act as single point of contact between insurers and Commercial Management.

• Implements Company Safety Standards and Quality Management procedures throughout the global diving technical support structure.

• Responsibility for recruitment of global diving technical support staff to ensure that the business line has adequate resources to meet its objectives.

 

Skills required

 

• Minimum 10 years' proven experience in offshore diving operations.

• Must possess a broad base of experience in the Offshore Oil and Gas industry and have in depth experience in provision of air and saturation diving services to the oil and gas industry at a senior level in a subsea services organization.

• Must have offshore experience on diving related activities, international management experience and a good understanding of subsea industry structure and its major players.

• Must have held the position of Offshore Construction Manager or Diving Superintendent controlling a wide variety of offshore diving programs in both the air and saturation ranges.

• EPCI project experience in the subsea engineering sector.

• Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills.

• Strong commercial and business acumen, strategic and financial mind-set.

• Experience with Reliability engineering.

• Ability to represent the Company with Senior Management and/or vendors with diplomacy, tact, helpful, positive and professional presentation and attitude.

 

Qualifications

 

• Qualified to HND/Degree in suitable Engineering discipline, Project Management or Business Studies or Diving Qualifications.

• Excellent computer literacy enough to operate Excel spreadsheet, MS Word, PowerPoint presentations, Outlook, Visio, MS Project, Acad required.

• Ability to continuously perform the essential asset management job functions.

• Ability to collaborate with other departments to meet daily, weekly, monthly, yearly goals.

• Ability to multitask and oversee multiple departments at once.
