Are you looking to take your first steps in corporate accounting? An established company in the Groot-Bijgaarden region is seeking a Junior Corporate Accountant to join their team. In this role, you will assist in preparing periodical and annual stand-alone and consolidated financial statements while managing and controlling the accounts of holding and financing entities within the group.
Your Responsibilities as Junior Corporate Accountant:
Corporate Accounting for Holding & Financing Entities:
- Prepare general ledger transactions for holding and financing entities.
- Compile monthly trial balances, general ledger reconciliations, interim accounts, and statutory annual accounts.
- Collaborate with auditors to ensure accurate preparation and approval of accounts.
- Handle VAT returns on a monthly and yearly basis for designated corporate entities.
- Resolve accounting discrepancies, process vendor payments, and address irregularities within your scope of responsibility.
Treasury Management:
- Maintain and reconcile intra-group and external borrowing schedules, ensuring timely notification and payment of interest and principal loan repayments.
- Monitor daily cash-pool movements.
- Support administrative processes related to banking operations.
Process & Systems Improvement:
- Ensure financial records comply with internal policies and procedures.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting control processes.
- Participate in control systems applicable to holding and financing entities.
- Enhance existing documentation and workflows for greater efficiency.
Your profile as Junior Corporate Accountant:
- You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or economics.
- You are either a recent graduate or have gained initial professional experience in accounting, financial controlling, consolidation, or reporting.
- You have a foundational understanding of Belgian or Luxembourg accounting principles; basic knowledge of IFRS is an advantage.
- You are fluent in English, and proficiency in French and/or Dutch is considered a valuable asset.
- You are proficient in MS Office applications, with strong skills in Excel. Familiarity with SAP S/4 Hana Public Cloud is a significant plus.
