DORIS is looking for a Structural Engineer to support the structural engineering team to deliver diverse and global projects.
Key Skills:
- Minimum 2 years experience.
Experience in some of the skills below are desirable:
- Structural design of renewables offshore projects.
- Structural design of hydrocarbon offshore structures.
- Conceptual, Front-End Engineering (FEED) or detailed design of offshore projects.
- Technical knowledge of steel structural design for jackets and topsides for offshore structures.
- Understanding of offshore wind farm design drivers, risks and legislation.
- Familiarity with offshore substation design.
- Knowledge of relevant offshore codes, standards and best practice for offshore design in hydrocarbons and renewables sector.
- Finite Element analysis experience for offshore structures.
- Experience with software such as SACS, SESAM, USFOS, ANSYS, ABAQUS, Mathcad.
- Scripting capability is an advantage (e.g. Python).
- Excellent communication skills.
- Self starter but works well within a multi discipline team.
- Articulate with excellent report writing skills.
Scope of Responsibilities:
- Work with structural engineering team to deliver design scopes.
- Complete design of offshore structures (substructures and topsides) for both renewable and hydrocarbon platforms to meet industry codes and certification requirements.
- Undertake development of automated processes for design of offshore structures (spreadsheets and scripts).
- Liaise with and work closely with the structural discipline lead.
- Ensure technical quality of engineering.
Qualifications:
- BEng or Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or related Engineering or above
- Working towards chartership
