Introduction

We’re looking for a skilled Workshop TIG Welder Fabricator to join a busy fabrication shop.

This is a hands-on bench and jig-based role, fabricating structural steel and aluminium components from CAD and engineering drawings.

  • Normally 8am–5pm, Monday to Friday.

  • Workshop-based role with no site work.

  • Immediate start.


Key Duties
  • Fabricate items from CAD and engineering drawings, including cutting, fitting and assembly.

  • TIG weld various sheet metal fabrications.

  • Work on pipework systems using stainless metric Tru-Bore and scheduled pipe.

  • Fabricate structural steel and aluminium components to a high standard.

  • Work on heavier steel fabrications and larger assemblies.

  • Set up and use jigs and fixtures to ensure accuracy and repeatability.

  • Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, including tolerances, weld symbols and BOMs.

  • Work to drawing dimensions.

  • Keep the workshop tidy and follow health and safety procedures.


Requirements
  • TIG welding experience is essential.

  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings independently.

  • Experience fabricating heavier steel sections, not just light gauge.

  • Confident using jigs and fixtures for production runs.

  • Workshop-based experience.

  • Team player with a flexible attitude.
