Job Title:                      Civil/Structural Engineer
 
Responsible to:            PMC Team Leader
 
Job Purpose:               The Civil/Structural Engineer shall provide civil/structural engineering input to the Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team as part of the PMC services to ADMA-OPCO for Das Island, Abu Dhabi, UAE, Projects.
                                   
                                    The role is to provide discipline input during the FEED development and EPC implementation stages of the projects under the services. These projects are expected to include the following brown field works:
 

  • Das facilities Upgrade (+ 100 MBD)
  • Das Additional Crude Oil Loading Pump Facilities
  • Das Flares Relocation/Optimisation
  • Das New Crude Oil Storage (COS) Tanks
  • DAS CTU Debottlenecking for 1BSCFD Gas Onshore

 
Principal Duties:          To provide as part of the PMC team, civil/structural engineering discipline input into the review, verification and approval of FEED engineering and EPC engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning works undertaken by others.
 
                                    To report on engineering detail and progress to the PMC Team Leader and to the client Project Management Team (PMT) personnel.
 
                                    To act as part of the integrated PMC/PMT
 
                                    To assist in the preparation of discipline sections of monthly reports
 
                                    Undertake office and yard work in Abu Dhabi and site attendance in Das Island as required with possibility of work in FEED and EPC contractor design offices outside UAE.
 
Other related duties as may arise from time to time.
 
Essential Skills:           At least 10 years experience as a Civil Structural Engineer, primarily in Oil and Gas Industry. Onshore design and construction experience essential, prior PMC experience an advantage.
Previous experience of leading/driving closure of technical issues related to onshore brown field projects of installed value up to $150m.
Ability to write neat, concise reports
Ability to manage own time, multi-task, meet tight deadlines and respond to project requirements in a clearly understood manner
Must be capable of:

  • Engaging in inter-disciplinary document reviews
  • Liaising with colleagues and client personnel in an authoritative, pleasant but firm manner

Need to possess highly developed interpersonal and communication skills
Knowledge of International engineering design standards and codes of practice
Working knowledge of MS Office programmes and engineering software as appropriate.
Fluency in written and spoken English
Candidate must be dynamic, proactive, assertive and a highly committed team player.
Must be in excellent health - Medical fitness certification for offshore duty, as determined by the client’s medical department, is an essential requirement for continued employment in this PMC role.  
 
Useful Skills:                Arabic (useful but not essential).
