My client are currently recruiting for skilled and motivated TIG Welder to join our manufacturing team at their site in Bala. You will be responsible for fabricating high-quality stainless steel and other alloy components used in scientific vacuum systems and research applications.
Terms & Benefits:

Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (depending on skills and level of responsibility)

Hours: 39 hours per week, Monday to Thursday, 6:15am – 4:30pm (No working on Fridays)

Contract: Permanent, full-time

Annual Leave: 25 days per year plus bank holidays

Key objectives:
-
Carry out TIG welding of stainless steel and other materials to a consistently high standard
-
Work from engineering drawings, technical diagrams, and work instructions
-
Ensure dimensional accuracy and weld integrity, conducting visual inspections and finishing work to customer specifications

Support wider fabrication activities including cutting, forming, fitting, and light assembly as required

Proactively identify and resolve fabrication or fitting issues during build
-
Collaborate with design, production, and quality teams to ensure jobs are completed on time and to the required standard

Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace at all times

Take ownership of jobs from start to finish and support continuous improvement activities within the workshop
Skills & Requirements:
-
Proven experience in TIG welding, particularly with stainless steel (ideally in thin-wall and precision applications)

Able to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings

Strong fabrication and fitting skills – with a commitment to high-quality workmanship

Ability to work independently and as part of a small, agile team

Good problem-solving mindset with a practical, hands-on approach

Experience with vacuum equipment or scientific instrumentation (desirable but not essential)

Interest in engineering, science, and technical manufacturing
