Employment Counsel – REMOTE

One of the nation’s oldest and largest firms is seeking employment attorneys with 7+ years of experience to join its Virtual Office as Special Counsel.

This mostly remote role is ideal for experienced litigators who want to maintain a full-cycle employment litigation practice while gaining greater flexibility and no business development pressure.

Role Overview

As Special Counsel, you will focus primarily on administrative charges, attorney demand letters, and single‑plaintiff employment litigation, including matters involving Employment Practices Liability Insurance (EPLI). You will handle matters directly while also supervising and mentoring other attorneys.

Responsibilities include:

  • Managing employment law matters from intake through resolution
  • Developing and executing litigation and case strategy
  • Drafting, reviewing, and overseeing pleadings, motions, and other work product
  • Conducting depositions and preparing witnesses
  • Representing clients at hearings, conferences, mediations, and trials
  • Collaborating with firm partners and litigation teams
  • Supervising junior attorneys and working closely with paralegals and shared secretarial support

There may be some local travel, but the role is designed to remain largely remote.

Practice Focus

  • Administrative agency charges (e.g., EEOC, state agencies)
  • Attorney demand letters
  • Single‑plaintiff employment litigation
  • EPLI‑covered matters
  • Potential involvement in:
    • Class actions
    • PAGA actions
    • Other labor and employment law matters, as needed

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Mostly remote / Virtual Office model

  • Sophisticated litigation work without partner‑track pressure
  • Strong infrastructure: paralegal support and shared secretarial pool
  • Emphasis on efficiency and high‑quality legal work
  • Inclusive, attorney‑supportive culture

Required Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in employment law and litigation
  • Active bar membership in good standing
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment
  • Experience handling EPLI matters
  • CA, TX, NY, KY, GA, FL, or AZ bar admission
