Salary: GBP208.87 - GBP400 per day

An exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior in-house recruiter to join a new central recruitment team vital to the success of UCL by ensuring we attract the talent UCL needs to deliver on its world leading teaching and research agenda.

We are looking for candidates who have experience of recruiting at CEO and Board Level using Executive Search methods. 

 Main purpose of the job

  • Managing multiple end to end recruitment campaigns  senior professional services (e.g VP, Director)  and senior  academic roles (Head of Department and above) within UCL to ensure an efficient, cost effective and compliant recruitment process
  • Building an effective working relationship with senior staff (e.g the Provost, Chair and their teams) to ensure senior recruitment campaigns are delivered smoothly
  • Utilising standard and innovative routes to market to deliver a diverse applicant pool
  • Proactively generating applicants through various search methodologies
  • Working to a defined service catalogue to deliver a value added service which improves the way UCL recruits talent, reducing time to hire and cost per hire
  • Focusing on delivering an exceptional hiring manager and candidate experience
  • Promoting and developing UCL as an employer of choice

Duties and responsibilities.

Overview

  • Managing end to end recruitment requirements to agreed service catalogue and metrics utilizing defined UCL systems and processes in line with UCL policies including, but not limited to, the Recruitment Policy.
  • Working with hiring managers to agree hiring plan for each role including defining times for shortlisting and interviews, advertising and routes to market strategy ,social media engagement (e.g Linked In), and assessment
  • Proactively sourcing candidates using job boards, agencies, meet ups, social media platforms, internet research, referrals, general headhunting, community groups and other innovative methods to attract the best possible candidates for our roles efficiently and cost effectively
  • Supporting hiring managers in writing attractive job descriptions in collaboration with HR Business Partner
  • Supporting hiring managers by pre-screening applicants and informing shortlist
  • Producing shortlist and interview packs for interview panels
  • Managing verbal offer processes
  • Continually reviewing routes to market effectiveness to ensure we attract a diverse and high quality candidate pool
  • Talent-pooling candidates for hard to fill and niche roles to improve time to hire
  • Ensuring the candidate journey and experience is of the highest possible quality including providing regular update and feedback on application outcomes, and supporting candidates through the recruitment process
  • Provision of regular reporting to hiring managers throughout the recruitment process  to include activity and progress against plan and market insight as required
  • Lead recruiting effort for a specific department(s), ensuring that the attraction strategies in place are able to deliver headcount plans within budget
  • Drive UCL’s Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion agenda across recruitment
  • Continually work to improve processes and follow best recruitment practice
  • Working closely with the commercial team to ensure the supplier landscape is fit for purpose and delivering value
  • Lead and contribute to projects in relation to the recruitment strategy
  • Coach hiring managers on the recruitment process and related policies/ procedures to ensure compliance through the recruitment process

Reporting and Service Delivery

  • Undertaking MI reporting and statistics on recruitment and accurately maintain all recruitment systems
  • Ensure that candidates within UCLs Talent Community are engaged and managed, including UCL’s internal redeployment pool
  • Ensures service metrics are captured and any service issues or failures are raised quickly and actioned
