Administrative Officer
Location: Darlington DL1-1RU Monday-Friday 9am-5pm Pay rate: £12.86ph

Our Client is hiring for an Admin Officer, and you’ll be at the heart of delivering a helpful, prompt and “right first time” service-every day.
What you’ll be doing:
• Preparing papers, files and documents for hearings, tribunals and meetings
• Producing standard letters, correspondence, minutes, notes and reports using guidelines
• Clerking hearings (civil and family), ensuring materials are up to date and ready
• Assisting court users by phone, in writing and face to face, and answering enquiries confidently
• Supporting listing and rota management, checking files and scheduling relevant parties
• Creating and updating records and entering data on in-house systems
• Posting opening and dispatch, photocopying, filing, and organising meeting rooms and materials
• Supporting Team Information Board (TIB) meetings to keep them relevant, timely and productive
• Handling processing tasks including standard documentation, court orders, claims, fines and fees (including basic payment processing methods)
• Checking and verifying documents, records and returns against criteria and quality standards
• Producing basic statistical analysis reports and completing straightforward financial processing
What you’ll bring:
• Excellent customer service and a calm, polite approach when dealing with the public and stakeholders
• Strong administrative skills, with attention to detail and a focus on accuracy
• Confident computer skills to create, update and maintain records and data
• A proactive mindset-able to use discretion and initiative within established processes
• Clear communication skills, including the confidence to contact relevant parties and chase/assemble information when required
• Willingness to work flexibly, including occasional ad hoc travel to nearby offices if needed
Additional information:
• Some roles include regular contact with court and tribunal users, including members of the Judiciary and the legal profession
• There may be opportunities to take on ad hoc responsibilities within the band, depending on office needs
