Sustainability Manager

Food Manufacturing 

 

Working on behalf of our client, Blakeney Point are looking for a Sustainability Manager to look after 3 sites in Leicestershire area. 

 

Duties:

  • Lead the alignment of business agenda, and supporting positive impact plans which engage with customers
  • Identify targets and stretch goals & track progress
  • Work closely with the group accessing expertise and collaborative support
  • Supporting internal and external stakeholder engagement as necessary
  • Ensure the site meet all legislative and customer standards, including group policies
  • Manage communication and relationship with customers and external contacts
  • Provide sustainability expertise to site management team
  • Implement appropriate KPI 
  • Develop and grow on site capability of functional teams to include training and workshops
  • Develop a meaningful, achievable and scientifically robust roadmap to progress towards net zero
  • Develop policies and standards
  • Support the business positive impact plan with regards to health initiatives through collaboration
  • Work closely with the procurement and technical teams 
  • Support site Profit Improvement Plans (PIPs) with a view to highlight any deviations
  • Active engagement and implementation of change management across the site
  • Support site health and safety objectives

Requirements: 

• Significant experience in sustainability, including environmental management roles, ideally in fast paced food environments or agricultural environments
• Environmental, ethical, packaging, waste and social responsibility knowledge and expertise within food manufacturing industry
• A good technical knowledge of retailer requirements plus a working knowledge of their monitoring systems.
• Experience of Sedex and ISO14000 audit standards and audit management
• Experience of developing sustainability strategies, engaging internal and external stakeholders
• Proven skills in developing teams through change projects, coaching and mentoring
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Strong influencing skills
• The ability to deliver a compelling positive impact plan at all levels both internally and externally
• Degree qualified, or equivalent, in a scientific discipline
• Excellent knowledge of MS Office – Word / Excel / PowerPoint
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills including both written and verbal communication
