PMO Resource Coordinator – Data Input/Resource Scheduling – Birmingham


PMO Resource Coordinator required for a Microsoft Gold Partner based in Birmingham. As a Resource Coordinator you will be responsible for the scheduling of resources across all projects, presales, and internal activities and will need to keep the resource planning tool up to date. You will manage and find solutions for resource requests based on skills, availability, and project priorities and validate assignments with the Practice Leads to ensure assigned resources have the skills and aptitude to deliver the required task.


An ideal candidate will have previous experience in resource scheduling, but also have a strong focus on data input and potentially have previous project experience. This role is a hybrid position and will be based in their Birmingham office 2 days a week.


Key Responsibilities of the Role:

  • To own the resource planning tool, ensuring it is kept up to date and accurate with all resource bookings and absence to ensure a single point of truth, and using it to provide accurate MI reporting
  • Liaise closely with internal and external stakeholders to fully understand resource requirements considering priority, timescales, and impact, and using this information to make informed decisions on conflicting resource bookings
  • Ensure all resources are adequately planned for according to their target utilisation and that their time is managed via the resourcing booking system, providing early escalation and recommendations where under-utilisation and over-utilisation are identified
  • Promote and police the resource planning process and ensure any non-compliance is addressed and escalated where necessary.
  • Use the resourcing tool to assist the PMO Coordinator/Project Manager to monitor and evaluate spend levels against approved budgets.
  • Actively monitor and respond to emails sent to the Resourcing mailbox.
  • The role also requires a lot of Data Inputting, especially on MS Excel.

Key Skills:

  • Proven experience scheduling resources, with potential experience around supply and demand planning.
  • Experienced user of MS Project and MS Office toolset (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)
  • Demonstrated capability for problem-solving, decision making, sound judgment, assertiveness
  • Proven experience in providing service to internal stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes
  • Understanding of project delivery and acceptance processes within a fast-paced business environment
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills with ability to conduct presentations comfortably to large groups
  • Strong relationship building and interpersonal skills

Our client is offering a salary of £27,000 (depending on experience) per annum plus excellent benefits.
