Software Developer – RPG – Weybridge
Software Developer required for a well-known international organisation based in Minworth, as they require additional technical expertise to help shape and upgrade their core software platform. You will work within the development team to develop and enhance their key system using RPG.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience using RPG, preferably withing a warehousing or fulfilment discipline.
Key Responsibility of the role:
- Enhance existing systems by analysing business requirements and identifying areas for modification and improvement.
- Ensure personal and team skills are kept up to date and shared through knowledge-sharing exercises.
- Participate in a small, experienced team on a time pressured development schedule.
- Consult colleagues concerning maintenance and performance of software systems.
- Support and maintain the products managed and developed by the team
Key Skills of the role:
- Experience developing in RPG
- Experience of improving processes and ways of working within their teams
- Experience in discussing changes with technical and non-technical people
- Analyse numerical data, verbal data and all other sources of information
- Good communication skills – written and verbal
- Demonstrate an understanding of different organisational departments and functions
- Ability to probe for further information or greater understanding of a problem
- Sets high standards for quality and quantity
- Ability to focus on customer needs and satisfaction
- Ability to understand how one issue may be a part of a much larger system
- Desirable for you to have experience in InterForm and Icebreak
Salary
The salary for this position is up to £50,000 per annum depending on experience, plus benefits. This role will be primarily based in Weybridge, yet some travel to other sites may be required at times.
