We are currently recruiting for Plastics Production Team Leader to join a successful and growing business in Lodge Farm, Northampton.

Role of a Production Team Leader
• Print appropriate works order paperwork from FactoryMaster.
• Ensure the operators understand how to complete the works order paperwork and use the SFDC system.
• Ensure all appropriate materials are assigned, issued and available for works orders. This includes parts, packaging, labels, opi’s, Gauges etc.
• Ensure the assigned labour is aware of the quantity of parts required, when the parts are required, quality requirements and packaging requirements.
• Assist the setters in the loading of tools into the press.
• Assist the setters in the preparation of the tools before the start of production.
• Ensure that materials hoppers and Masterbatch dosers do not run out of material.
Leading a team
• Their daily assigned tasks (Quality) as per individual OPI’s.
• Ensuring that individual OEE targets are met. Any issues must be reported to the Supervisor.
• Liaise with the Production Manager, on a monthly basis about individual operators training requirements, welfare requirements and progress against targets, keeping records. A calendar reminder should be set.
• Ensure that the correct quantities are booked against each operation of the WO, using SFDC.
• Ensuring any rejects are booked correctly along with any containment actions that are required and disposed of in accordance with company procedures.
• Ensuring all operators are aware of the STOP CALL WAIT system and how to use.
• Ensure that no processes are continued outside the scope of STOP CALL WAIT without a written concession.
• Do not carry out any processes that are not detailed on the Timesheet and P3 without a written concession.
• Ensure that completed parts are successfully moved to stock. Verify this using systems
• Ensure that OPIs are presented and filed correctly
Responsibilities of a Production Team Leader
• Safe operation of all company equipment in execution of designated job.
• Compliance to company H&S procedures during all times. Correct use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment), airlines, slip trips and falls, etc. Report any unsafe equipment of practice immediately. Where possible remove from use.
• Compliance to company written and oral operating procedures.
• Correct interpretation of company visual / mechanical specifications.
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping to meet company standards.
• Ensure adherence to all ISO/IATF requirements.
• First point of call for manufacturing personnel regarding any HR / H&S & welfare issues.
• Be respectful to colleagues.
• Be aware of the company organogram and the escalation route for problems encountered.
• Have knowledge of the company handbook.
• Any other reasonable task asked by your manager.
Skills of a Production Team Leader
• Capable of reading and understanding all written and visual instructions.
• Capable of providing written communications using company monitoring documentation.
• Capable of providing accurate product counts using company monitoring documentation.
• Working knowledge of company risk assessments.
• Safe handling of rubber and plastics.
• Manual Handling Capability – following assessment.
• Competent reading / writing / numeric skills.
• Interpersonal and supervisor skills.
