Are you a mechanically skilled technician with experience in high-speed production environments? We’re looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Back End / LSM Necker Technician to join a leading manufacturer in the canning industry, based in Rugby.

About the Role

As part of the Engineering team, you’ll play a vital role in maintaining and improving high-speed can-making equipment. Your work will directly support the production of high-quality metal packaging used by some of the world’s most recognized brands.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on Back End and LSM Necker machinery.
• Conduct daily checks and continuous monitoring of plant and production equipment.
• Support equipment overhauls, height/diameter changes, and mechanical upgrades.
• Assist with installation, trials, and commissioning of new machinery.
• Complete work orders using the Apriso system within agreed timeframes.
• Rebuild unit spares and manage spare parts inventory.
• Provide training and support to team members and cover shifts when required.
• Operate FLT and perform machining tasks (turning, milling, grinding) as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• Time-served apprenticeship in Mechanical/Engineering or equivalent experience.
• HNC/HND qualification desirable; electrical qualifications are a plus.
• Experience in the canning or metal packaging industry is highly advantageous.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Flexibility to support other areas and travel if required.

Desirable Attributes

• FLT license (or willingness to train).
• Familiarity with Apriso or similar maintenance systems.
• Ability to work independently and under pressure with a keen eye for detail.
