A leading high‑speed manufacturing operation is seeking an experienced Engineering & Facilities Manager to oversee all engineering, maintenance, and facilities functions on site. This is a key leadership role responsible for ensuring equipment reliability, driving technical excellence, and maintaining a safe, efficient, and high‑performing production environment.
You will lead a multidisciplinary team and collaborate closely with Production, HSE, Quality, and Supply Chain to optimise plant performance and support long-term asset sustainability in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Provide strategic direction for all engineering activities, including equipment design, process optimisation, automation, and troubleshooting within a high‑speed production environment.
- Develop and implement engineering standards, preventive maintenance strategies, and reliability programmes.
- Evaluate, select, and integrate new technologies to support operational excellence and rapid throughput.
Maintenance & Reliability Management
- Lead the maintenance team in delivering preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
- Drive improvements in equipment uptime, OEE, and spare parts utilisation.
- Implement root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives to reduce downtime and extend asset life.
Facilities Management
- Oversee all building systems and utilities, including HVAC, electrical distribution, water systems, compressed air, fire protection, and waste handling.
- Manage contractors and service providers for facility maintenance, construction, and repairs.
- Ensure compliance with local codes, environmental regulations, and internal standards.
Capital Projects & Budgeting
- Plan, lead, and execute capital projects such as equipment upgrades, facility expansions, and process improvements.
- Develop project scopes, budgets, timelines, and risk assessments.
- Coordinate with internal stakeholders and external vendors to ensure successful project delivery.
Safety, Compliance & Environmental Stewardship
- Partner with HSE to ensure engineering and facilities operations meet regulatory and corporate safety standards.
- Ensure safe engineering practices for all equipment modifications and installations.
- Support sustainability initiatives related to energy efficiency, waste reduction, and utilities management.
Team Leadership & Development
- Lead, mentor, and develop a team of engineers, maintenance technicians, and facilities personnel.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement, technical excellence, and proactive problem solving.
- Oversee staffing, training, performance management, and succession planning.
Stores & Change Management
- Oversee site stores to ensure efficient operation and continuous improvement.
- Manage CAPEX projects from approval through to completion.
- Lead change management activities for machinery installations, new line introductions, and equipment relocations—particularly within high‑speed production lines.
Planning, Reporting & Documentation
- Maintain engineering documentation, drawings, SOPs, and facility records.
- Track and report performance metrics for maintenance reliability, utilities usage, and project progress.
- Prepare annual budgets and long-term asset management plans.
Qualifications:
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
- 7+ years’ experience in manufacturing engineering, maintenance, or facilities management, including 3+ years in a leadership role.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and process systems used in manufacturing.
- Proven experience with maintenance best practices and reliability methodologies.
- Experience working in high‑speed or high‑volume production environments.
Preferred
- Experience in packaging, food, pharmaceutical, or other high‑throughput manufacturing sectors.
- Familiarity with CMMS systems, automation technologies, and energy management programmes.
- Project management certification (PMP) or Lean/Six Sigma qualification.
