Gi Group are supporting our client with the recruitment of skilled production operatives to work on their site based in the Chapeltown area of Sheffield.
The Role:
The role involves working as part of a production team within the Sealants department. Production operatives would be required to operate various types of machinery on a fast paced production line. For this position, previous experience in manufacturing or machine operating roles is essential.
Working Hours:
Off-peak: Monday-Friday: 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm on a weekly rotation.
Rate of pay:
£10 per hour, plus shift premiums.
(25% premium for working a night shift / 35% premium for weekend days when worked during peak periods)
Duties/Responsibilities:
• Operating different types of packaging machinery at varying stages of the production process.
• Sorting and weighing products to ensure requirements are met and that no mistakes have been made.
Mixing of various products.
• Applying labels and moving products to the shipping area, keeping them organised.
• Completing administrative tasks throughout the production process, carefully ensuring all information is entered correctly and clearly.
• Observing the production line ahead of you to anticipate and check for errors and making adjustments where needed to maintain quality standards and optimise the line speed.
• Reporting any malfunctions or errors to supervisors immediately, and ensuring that you relay the key information.
• Performing simple maintenance and housekeeping tasks to ensure your machine remains functional, safe and efficient to operate.
Essential Skills Required:
• Previous experience of working within a production environment.
• A pro-active mind set with desire to learn and improve.
• Accuracy in all tasks, measurements, producing high quality products.
• Be able to look after and care for any company tooling and equipment used.
• Effective communication and positive relations with employees at all levels within the organisation.
• Integrity.
• Confidentiality regarding all processes, data and information contained and discussed in the department.
