Location: Reading, RG1 1DX
Working Days / Hours: 37 hours Monday - Friday
Working Pattern: 9:00am - 5:00pm
Pay Rate: £12.86 per hour
If you’re a customer-focused administrator who enjoys getting things right first time, this could be a brilliant opportunity. Our Client is hiring for an Admin Officer to support the smooth running of Employment Tribunals and related activities at the Reading Employment Tribunal Building-helping cases progress through the system with accuracy, professionalism and care.
What you'll be doing:
• Prepare papers, files and documents for hearings, meetings and tribunal activity
• Create and update records on an in-house computer system, including data input
• Carry out post opening/dispatch and general photocopying and filing
• Book and organise meeting rooms and support training courses and group activities
• Draft standard letters, correspondence, minutes, notes, reports and submissions in line with guidelines
• Clerical support for civil and family courts, tribunals and hearings-ensuring papers/materials are up to date
• Support listing and rota activity by checking files and assisting court users
• Handle face-to-face, written and telephone enquiries (including from court/tribunal users and representatives)
• Assist with scheduling/serving documents and other operational admin tasks (including use of chip and pin, where required)
• Help prepare for and support Team Information Board (TIB) meetings, including problem-solving as part of a team
• Verify and check documents, records and returns to quality and compliance standards
• Produce basic statistical analysis reports and complete straightforward finance processing where required
What you'll bring:
• Strong customer service, with a helpful, prompt and polite approach
• Confident administrative skills, including accurate record keeping and data input
• Ability to follow guidance and operate within systems and processes (SOPs)
• A careful, methodical mindset-especially when checking, verifying and processing information
• Willingness to be flexible, including occasional ad hoc work at other local offices
Additional information:
You’ll work as part of a supportive team with regular management support, and you’ll be responsible for your own time.
There’s also opportunity to use initiative and contribute to small improvement activities within established frameworks.
