About the Role


Experis is partnering with a Federal Government agency to source a Junior APS 6 Python Developer for a 12-month non-ongoing contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a critical digital transformation project involving the migration of a legacy on-premise platform to a modern cloud environment.


Key Responsibilities


  • Contribute to the development and deployment of applications using Python and Django.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle – from analysis and design through to deployment and support.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including architects, testers, and DevOps engineers.

  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code.

  • Assist with cloud migration activities and platform modernisation.

  • Apply CI/CD best practices in Azure DevOps environments.

  • Provide technical input to design and architecture discussions.

Key Skills and Experience


  • At least 1 year of hands-on experience developing with Python and Django.

  • JavaScript or React development experience.

  • Proven experience completing at least one end-to-end project using Django and Python.

  • Exposure to or experience working in a Federal Government environment (desirable).

  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline deployments using Azure DevOps.

  • Azure Developer Associate Certification (highly desirable).

  • Tertiary qualification in Computer Science, with basic knowledge of Chemistry (desirable).
